It has been two weeks since our last short session, I ( Matt ) have been angling on the River Severn with some lads from work In search of Barbel and I have to say that I have really enjoyed It.

( Marc ) has been In the states the last few weeks with his family enjoying Florida and Disney land, No sooner had he returned he was on the phone and we arranged our return trip a bend In the rod Is long over due

We arrived at the lake around about 3.30pm? to find the venue angler free, It had been a very warm day again and the sun was still high as we made our way to our chosen swims and tackled up

With all the gear prepared Saturday evening getting the rods sorted did not take long and by 4.00pm all three rods were In position and we were both angling, Early doors and there were no tell tale signs spotted In the way of head poking, rolling, head and shouldering or fizzing everything done the kettle was put on and we sat back water watching

The kettle had Just began to sing when the tip on my right hand rod bounced, After a slight pause the bobbin slammed up tight against the blank and the Siren burst Into life fish on

After a spirited and short fight I slipped the net under my first carp for over two weeks, Not large by any means but condition wise It was superb

FIRST CARP IN TWO WEEKS FOR MATT

Delighted and to capture a fish so early In any session Is always pleasing, Things went very quiet for a good hour or so after the quick action, It wasn't  until around about 6.00pm? when the next bite came along and this time It was on one of ( Marc's ) rods

( Marc ) went and bagged himself a common of roughly the same size his being one of the slate grey strains which are resident In the lake, With the evenings now drawing In bank time Is becoming very limited 8.00pm would be our cut off point? The action was very steady and we both went onto add a few more captures to our tally, ( Matt ) with another common which was slightly bigger than the first one and ( Marc ) went on to catch two more

It's been great to get out and sit behind our rods angling for carp, A few more short sessions to go and then It's time for our annual visit to France, More on that nearer the time

Until the next blog thanks for reading Tight Lines and Happy Angling
