SHORT  SESSION  SUNDAY  (  5.  4.  2015  )

It's the first week In April ( 2015 ) and that time has come around again the start of our short session campaign

It's the bank holiday weekend and most of It was spent with our family's but we have found enough time this Sunday afternoon to give us both ( Matt ) and ( Marc ) a realistic chance of putting a Carp on the bank

We left our homes Just after 3.00 pm and arrived at the venue around 3.40 pm, Weather wise It's a major change to last Sunday, Their's no howling wind and driving rain today the lake looks like a mill pond

After a quick walk around the venue and speaking to the few anglers that were already present we soon found out that the lake was fishing hard, Only one fish was reported to of come out all weekend and that came out In the early hours of Sunday morning

We did spot signs of Carp on our walk around but most of the shows were spotted In the out of bounds area of the lake after a quick debate we opted for the double swim

Rigs: If you read any of our short session blogs last year? you'll know that myself ( Matt ) and ( Marc ) are big fans of the blow back / snowman rig and we have used It to good effect on this venue , No surprise when I tell you that the rig In use today remains the same

I ( Matt ) will also be using the blow back / snowman presentation on two of my rods but on my third rod I have opted for a stiff hinged rig, I was using a naked chod rig on my third rod  last year I had the odd fish but thought I should of had more, Will the hinged stiff rig be any more successful? only time will tell

Bait: Our ( CM2 ) bottom baits remain on the menu and so does the ( Tangee Terror ) which I ( Matt ) will be using In conjunction with the new bait from Nash for 2015 ( The Key )

The pop up I'm presenting ( Matt ) on my hinged stiff rig Is another product from Nash called ( Citruz )

These pop up's have yet to be released onto the UK market but I was very lucky to get my hold on some last weekend at the Northern Angling Show personally rolled by the man himself Gary Bayes

By 4.30 pm we were both fishing In tune with the lake and water watching and still the only shows we  were seeing were tucked away right In the corner of the lake with no angling access

Neither of us had over done It bait wise a few free offerings and chops were added to our chosen spots

I ( Matt ) was also using the Key over the hinged stiff rig giving me a different option of a reasonably bright bait fished over a dark bait

The clock ticked on and we both re spotted all of our rods again around 6.00 pm , The only bite sadly to report was from the biscuits we enjoyed with our bankside coffee

Ask dusk fell we began the slow pack away and pulled off around 8.00 pm

Were hoping to get back out to do It all again next Sunday until then thanks for reading

Tight Lines and Happy Angling
