It's been a good Two weeks since myself ( Matt ) and ( Marc's ) last short session

Things have been very busy of late, But I'm pleased to say this weekend we have both found the time to get back out their put everyday day life to one side for a few hours and focus our attentions on putting a Carp on the bank

Weather wise the previous Two weeks have been excellent most days have reached temperatures Into the high teens, Looking back at our last session the lake was still waking up returning back this weekend we are fully expecting to discover a different picture, The water temperature should of Increased considerably and hopefully of got the Carp out of their Winter slumber and moving around the lake?

Saturday afternoon I ( Matt ) decided to do a stock check on my pop ups, It was Just as well I did as on Inspection my supply of 12mm and 16mm ( CM1 ) pop ups was running very low Indeed, So an afternoon of pop up production took place

CM1 POP UPS

The 12mm pop ups I use to tip off a bottom bait and the 16mm pop ups I use on either a naked chod rig and of late the hinged stiff rig

The hinged stiff rig Is what I will be using this evening( Matt ) on one rod, My other Two will be presenting snowman rigs ( Marc ) has opted on the snowman rig also on all Three of his rods

Their was barely no chance of popping the kettle on to make the first coffee of the session as ( Marc's ) middle rod sprung Into action only a few bleeps were registered but ( Marc ) was onto the rod In a flash

A slow ploddy steady fight and the fish was safely In the net and no sooner had he gone to Inspect his prize his right hander was away, I ( Matt ) was only set up a short distance away down the bank so I was soon on hand to help move ( Marc's ) first capture from the net Into the retainer sling freeing up the net for his next victim

This Carp gave more of an account for Itself than the previous one did but the battle was swiftly won In         ( Marc's ) favour and he had another In the net

Frantic action! After weighing both fish twice each It was confirmed that ( Marc ) had gone and bagged himself Two Twenty's the one pictured below was the biggest one out of the brace

A fine carp and In great condition good angling ( Marc )

After the early action we finally managed to grab our cups of coffee and watched the water for signs for the next few hours, That was until around tea time when ( Matt's ) ( CM1 ) pop up presented on a hinged stiff rig rattled off resulting In his first capture since way back In February

It was so nice to see this sight again a Carp In my arms !!!

We fished on right up until dusk then pulled off heading home happy with our evenings work

Next weekend It's the bank holiday hopefully Sunday we can do It all again?
