SHORT  SESSION  SUNDAY  (  17. 5.  2015 )

With no angling last weekend the chance to wet a line or Three this weekend was very much appreciated!

Myself ( Matt ) and angling companion ( Marc ) are both lake bound once again for another short session, We left home Just after 3.00pm arriving at the venue Just after 3.30pm, Their were a few anglers already present and they were scattered all around the lake

We set off as we normally do for a quick scout around the lake on the way dropping In on those present for a quick chat and to see what If anything had been caught? Everyone we had spoken too had been present since first light and a few of them had experienced some action, The main thing which was established was that the Carp were very active and were showing all over the lake

By 4.00pm we had both chosen our swims and began to tackle up, In most of my blogs our presentations rig wise remain the same and on this session they were no different, Bait wise and for me ( Matt ) I'd made a tweak on one of my rods

Being honest with you I'm an out and out boilie angler an approach I have great confidence In, But last week I was fortunate to get my hands on some more new products from Nash tackle

'' Slicker Hemp '' a product from their new particle range for 2015 the first Impressions when I Inspected this product was one of Impressive, So the decision was made In conjunction with Tangee Terror chopped boilie and a Key hookbait I'd give It a go on One of my rods during my next session

SLICKER  HEMP

With the use of a spomb I got the slicker hemp / boilie combo from the bank to the spot with ease, The cloud produced as the hemp sank through the upper layers was Immense and the wild foul were onto It In a flash

Picking off the odd chilli flake which remained on the surface, The other two rods Just for the record were presenting a snowman and a hinged stiff rig over boilies, ( Marc ) went for the snowman presentation on all Three fished over boilies

Just like our previous session ( Marc ) was off the mark In less than an hour the Carp pictured below was the pick of the bunch from his session

CRACKING  COMMON

( Marc ) has experienced some fabulous sport over recent weeks and he said to me during this session that he Just can't put a foot wrong at the moment, I told him to milk It !!!

All the years I been a Carp angler have told me that when these windows of opportunity occur reap the rewards when they have gone? who knows when they will return?

As always good angling mate!!!

Things began slowly for me ( Matt ) I was experiencing plenty of activity over the hemp and I kept the spot topped up during the duration of my stay, I finally had some action around tea time? The Carp below was the pick of the bunch and my first Twenty pound Carp of the year

FIRST  TWENTY

I was simply delighted with this capture apologies If I have said this more than once? but Commons are very dear to me In my opinion they are Just that little bit special, Their was a slight Two tone going on with this one simply stunning

On It's return It was clearly visible that this Carp was very exhausted after the account which It gave during the fight so I popped It In the retainer sling until It was fully recovered and made sure all was OK before I attempted to return It for a second time to It's watery home
