It's been a few weeks now since my last session blog, Bankside time has been limited of late due to work and family commitments but I'm glad to say that Is all behind me now and I'm back out by the waters edge for another short session

( Marc ) on the other hand has been slightly more fortunate than myself and has managed to get out and wet a line, Most recently he visited a local day ticket water for an afternoon session and on that occasion he took his youngest son Evan with him who experienced his first attempts at angling and being by the waters edge, With help from dad It wasn't long before Evan had his first carp on the bank

EVANS FIRST CARP

Right then on with the session, Myself and ( Marc ) arrived at the venue around about 3.30pm? and not for the first time this year the venue was angler free and we had the pick of the swims, we were experiencing some stormy weather which was the tail end of a hurricane called ( Bertha ) which had hit most parts of America over the previous 48hrs, The wind was strong but shouldn't effect our angling to much this evening, The Important thing was that It was a new wind and one of the decisions we had to make whilst walking around the lake was to fish In the teeth of It or on the back of It? After a long debate the decision was made ( Marc ) chose a swim which was right In the teeth of It, Whilst I ( Matt ) opted for a swim which gave me both options to put baits In the Teeth of It or on the back of It

A shade after 4.00pm and we were both set up and angling, Normal tactics and baits were being Introduced again and for me ( Matt ) It was outing number three for the Tangee Terror the new bait which Is produced by Nash for Angling Direct

MOTHER NATURE GAVE US SUNSHINE AND SHOWERS

( Marc ) hit the road running receiving a violent take within minutes of casting out but sadly the hook pulled and he lost that one, The next few hours went by non eventful as we both sat watching the water for signs, One show was recorded as what looked like a mid double common head and shouldered In the central area of the lake

Around 6.00pm a recast was made and some more free offerings were spread over the spots, The middle rod which was presenting a Tangee Terror snownman rig suddenly burst Into life a few bleeps sounded before that rod melted off with an angry common attached, After a spirited battle I ( Matt ) slipped the net under a very small common and my first capture on the Tangee Terror

Just like London buses I re spotted the same rod and within as many minutes It was away again, This time the result was what I think Is the smallest carp I have ever caught from this lake? If I was being generous It may of gone two pound? Condition wise It was excellent and without doubt the future stock of the lake

As the session progressed things started to look even better regards more action, You can Just about make out from the still below the spots well and truely rocking as the carp grub through the silt and produce plenty of fizzing

FIZZING

I'm pleased to say more action did follow, In fact It went manic, The middle rod belted off again and just as I ( Matt ) was In the process of landing that carp the left hander sprung Into life, both carp were landed safely '' Double Take '' Achieved

( Marc )  not forgetting him who was angling from two swims up to my right telephoned me to say he's had five after losing his first up to around the mid double stamp, Just before we were about to rap up what had been a very enjoyable short session ( Matt's ) middle rod was on song again bagging the biggest of the evening and on the Tangee Terror a real old warrior of a carp which just reached twenty pounds by a matter of ounces
