After Enjoying A Fabulous Week Of Stunning Weather In Beautiful Surroundings And Pitting My Wits Against Some Very Big Carp With My Good Friend ( Nick Rudge ) Over The Channel In France Last Week
I'm Using The Final Days Of My Holiday And Returning Bank Side Here In The UK On Another Short Session.

I'm Joined With Another Good Friend Of Mine ( Marc Copson ) As We Arrive At The Venue Around 3.45pm, Conditions Looked Perfect Overcast With Rain Falling Heavy And Showery At Times. I Picked       ( Marc's ) Brains '' Not For The First Time '' And He Brought Me Up To Speed On How Things Were Going At The Lake Whilst I'd Been Away.

( Marc ) Bagged Two Fish Last Week In The Later Stages Of The Session But Told Me Things Had Been Tough Going Last Week And The Venue Looked Very Moody. ( Marc ) Has Not Blanked All Season And This Still Continues As We Go Into Today's Session.

We Are The Only Anglers Present And Not For The First Time This Season We Have Both Chosen To Fish The Large Swim We Have Both Achieved Some Good Success From There This Year. A Nice Wind Was Blowing Towards Us And We Spotted Numerous Signs Of Carp Such As Fizzing And Head Poking So It Was An Easy Decision To Make! I'm Not Going To Bore Any Of You Reading This With The Fine Details Of Rigs And Baits, Things Were Simple And What I Use For I'd Say At Least 90% Of My Angling.

( Rig ) - Snowman Presentation

( Baits ) - ( CM1 ) Bottom Baits And Pop Up's

We Had Only Been Angling For Roughly 30 Mins? When ( Marc's ) Right Hander Screamed Off Bagging One Of The Lakes Stockies In The Form Of A Small Common, We Never Weighed It But I'd Say It Was Around 12 / 13lb? Fin Perfect And In Lovely Condition!

Soon After It Was My Turn And I ( Matt ) Also Banked A Small Common Of Roughly The Same Size, Two Early Fish And Things Looked Very Good Indeed, How Wrong Where We? The Following 3 Hours Were Of Shear Frustration, With Out Doubt We Were On Fish And The Signs Especially In The Way Of Fizzing Increased On At Least 2 Of Our Spots For Lengthly Periods. But How We Were Not Getting Picked Up And Banking More Fish Was A Puzzler! We Both Discussed In Length At The Possible Chance That It May Not All Be Carp But Bream? This Venue Holds A Good Head Of Big Bream.

Around 7.30pm The Liners Arrived And The Bobbin Began To Dance But Hitting The Rod In My Opinion   ( Matt ) Would Of Been Fatal, So I Decided To Sit It Out And Hope A Bite / One Toner Developed And Just Before Dusk It Did, The Right Hander Melted Off And I Banked With Out Doubt One The Best Fish I Think I Have Bagged All Season, I Have Caught Much Bigger But When They Look Like This The Weight Does Not Matter.
