Before I ( Matt ) Begin With This Weeks Low Down I'd Like To Start By Wishing All Reading This A Very Happy Easter

Right Then Let's Begin.....  No Work Today As It's A Bank Holiday ( Easter Monday )

After Doing A Few Chores At Home And ( Marc ) Entertaining His Young Family, We Finally Hit The Road And Arrived At The Venue Around About ( 3.45PM? )

For The First Time In A Few Weeks We Arrived To See A Few Anglers Present, But I'm Pleased To Say That They Were Not Sitting In The Swims That Myself And ( Marc ) Have Been Focusing Our Efforts In Over Recent Weeks

Conditions Were Sock On!!! Air Temperature Was Eighteen Degrees, Overcast And The Wind Was Blowing Smack Bang Into Our Faces, We Couldn't Unload The Van Quick Enough

By ( 4.30PM ) The Rods Were Out On The Usual Spots And We Were Fishing, Normal Tactics Again Snowman Presentations Complemented With Small PVA Bags Of Chopped Boilie, Followed By A Small Amount Of Free Offerings

( Marc ) Spotted A Fish Head And Shoulder In Front Of Him Within Minutes Of Beginning Today's Session, So Upon Seeing This He Reeled In A Rod And Dropped It Back On The Spot Were He Had Seen The Fish Show

Twenty Minutes Later That Rod Was Away And He Was Into What Appeared To Be A Nice Fish, A Really Sluggish Plodding Fight Soon Revealed His Prize And Yes We Were Correct It Was A Good Fish And A Wood Carving Of A Common, But Sadly We Never Found Out How Big It Was As Just Before Netting The Hook Pulled And ( Marc ) Had Lost It '' GUTTED!!! ''

Their Was No Time To Waste, As Time Was Limited Rod Back Out And Another Trap Was Set,                    ( Marc ) Felt Deflated As Any Angler Would After Losing Such A Good Fish, But He Didn't Have To Wait Long For Another Chance, When Roughly Forty Minutes Later? The Same Rod Was Away Again And This Time ( Marc ) Slipped The Net Under A Lovely Low Twenty Common, All Smiles Now!!!

( MARC'S ) FIRST OF THE SESSION

To Be Honest We Were Both Very Surprised To See That ( Marc ) Had Got Another Chance So Quickly, But We Were Not Complaining, Lovely Fish And In Great Condition

Things Slowed Down After ( Marc's ) Drama And We Both Spoke To The Anglers Who Were Present On Arrival As The Were Departing, They Had Been Their Since First Light And Had Both Blanked Neither Of Them Had Seen A Fish Roll, Head And Shoulder, Crash All Day

The Wind Was Picking Up Speed As The Session Progressed Into Late Evening, And Myself And ( Marc ) Spotted Show After Show The Carp Were Clearly At Our End Of The Lake

( Matt ) Opened His Account With Two Small Carp Around ( 7.45PM ) One Of Them Coming From His Margin Spot Which He Has Been Steadily Baiting For The Last Three Weeks So That Was Pleasing

With The Overcast Conditions The Light Began To Fade Quicker Than Expected This Evening And Having To Pull Of At Dusk ( Matt ) Said To ( Marc ) I'd Love It Now To Bank Something Slightly Bigger To Round Of Another Decent Nights Angling

The Carp Gods Must Have Been Ease Dropping As What Happened Next Was What Every Carp Angler Goes Carp Fishing For, Out The Blue ( Matt's ) Right Hand Rod Melted Off And When I Say Melted Off I Mean It Went Like A Steam Train Dragging The Rod From The Butt Rest Right Up Tight To The Siren

Pulling Into It And The Tip Bent Over Another Plodder Was Attached To The Other End, A Short Fight Which Towards The End Had My Heart In My Mouth As It Took Me Through A Marginal Snag, But With Help From ( Marc ) We Netted My Prize And What A Prize It Was

DELIGHT FOR ( MATT )
