Monday Comes Around Again And After A Busy Day And A Little Later Than Normal Myself ( Matt ) And ( Marc ) Are Heading To The Lake For Another Short Session

This Years Campaign Is Well Under Way Now And To Our Records Today Will Be Our Tenth Session Of The Year, Conditions Looked Very Good Indeed For The Majority Of The Day, Overcast And Very Muggy And Sticky

As We Arrived At The Lake And Only Found One Other Angler Present The Old Current Bun Worked It's Way Through Parting Clouds Sending Large Numbers Of Carp To The Surface, We Experienced This Also Last Week Which Resulted In A Very Challenging Session

Usual Swims, Baits And Tactics For ( Marc ) Again, ( Matt ) On The Other Hand Had Decided To Change One Of His Presentations From A ( Snowman ) To A ( Hinged Stiff Rig ), If You Have Been Reading Our Blogs Over Recent Weeks? You'll Know That He Has Been Targeting A Marginal Area On One Of His Rods, Being Honest The Results From That Spot Have Been Poor Bagging Only Two Carp And Small Ones At That, So A Rethink In Rigs Was Mulled Over During The Weekend And The Decision Was Made To Change In Hope That This Could Possibly Improve Results?

With June Arriving Over The Weekend Spring Was Over And The Start Of Summer Had Finally Arrived Spawning Had Taken Place From Both The Carp And The Wildfowl, Talking Of Wildfowl They Gave Me     ( Matt ) A Real Headache In The Early Stages Of This Evenings Session, With In Minutes Of My Rig And Free Offerings Hitting The Water I Had Vast Numbers Of Diving Ducks Demolishing My Spots, I Managed To Get Some Bait In But I Had No Choice But To Wait A Good Few Minutes After Doing This To Cast In My Rig, In Order To Be Confident My Presentation Was In Place And Not Leaving It To Chance After It Had Been Picked Up By A Duck

Around ( 7.00 PM ) It Went Very Overcast Again And Rain Looked Imminent, This Would Be Very Welcome And A Quick Down Pour Is Just What We Needed, And Would Hopefully Pull The Carp Down Which Were Still In The Upper Layers And On The Surface

Rain Arrived But It Was Short And Sweet Lasting Around Twenty Minutes?  And Made No Difference What So Ever To The Carps Behavior, Tonight Was Turning Out To Be A Carbon Copy Of Last Weeks Session And Very Tough Indeed

Anyone Who Knows Me ( Matt ) You Will Know I Like A Coffee And After Enjoying One Early Doors I Was Gutted To Find All The Gas Had Gone And I'd Forgot To Put In A Fresh Tin Of Gas How Was I Going To Cope???

But The Juices Were Soon Flowing When Around ( 8.00 PM )? My Left Hand Rod Sprung Into Life From The Same Spot Were I Bagged That Lovely Mirror From Last Week, I Shortly Put The Net Under A Nutty Damaged Looking Common, Low Double It Was Very Welcome Indeed On Such A Tough Evening To Achieve A Bite

You May Just Be Able To Make Out The Deep Gash On The Flank Of This Capture?

This Was Down And Caused By Spawning No Doubt, I Gave It Some TLC And Applied A Good Helping Of Kryston's Klinic Before I Returned It To His Watery Home

( Marc ) Also Managed One At Last Knockings And I Mean He Left It Late He Was Just About To Begin To Pack Up, Glad To Say A Small Mirror With Some Lovely Apple Sliced Scales Saved The Blank

Overall A Very Tough Session Again, Their Still In A Weird Mood After Spawning, Hopefully Things Will Have Improved In Time For Our Next Session, Until Then Thanks For Reading

TIGHT LINES And HAPPY ANGLING
