Myself ( Matt ) And ( Marc ) Are Now Two Sessions Into This Years Campaign, And After Experiencing Some Good Results Last Week We Were Both Chomping At The Bit To Return

It Was Touch And Go If We Could Make It This Week, But I'm Glad To Say We Made It, We Arrived Later Than Normal Which Limited Our Angling Time But Less Time Is Better Than No Time

On Arrival This Week We Were Both Surprised Again To Find No Other Anglers Present, Even More So With It Being Easter And A Few People On Holiday?

But Were Not Complaining And Jumped Straight Back Into The Same Swims As Last Week, Weather And Conditions, The Forecast Over The Weekend Said High Pressure And That's What We've Had All Over The Weekend And Have Today, A Lovely Wind Was Blowing From Right To Left And If You Have Read The Previous Two Blogs? You'll Know That ( Matt ) Has Been Targeting A Marginal Area Of The Lake

The Conditions Were Perfect And That Margin Spot Looked The Best It Has Done So Far This Season

The First Rod Of The Session To Go Out In ( Matt's ) Swim Was The Margin Rod And A Small Chod Rig Presenting A 12mm ( Fresh Orange ) Pop Up Was Placed In To Position Fished Over A Light Scattering Of Chopped ( Banofond ) Bottom Baits

The Middle And Left Hand Rod As Normal Were Presenting Snowman Presentations Complemented With Small PVA Bags Of Chopped Boilie, ( CM2 ) And ( Coconut Cream ) Respectively

( Marc ) Continued To Use The Same Tactics Again Which Has Got His Campaign This Year Off To A Great Start

Snowman Presentations In Open Water Spots Over A Light Baiting Approach Using ( CM2 ) Bottom Baits And ( Fresh Orange ) Pop Up's

By 4.30pm We Were Both Angling, Kettle On And Water Watching For Signs

Last Week It Was ( Matt ) Who Opened His Account With An Early Capture, This Week It Was ( Marc's ) Turn By Banking A Lovely Mid Double Common Of Around Sixteen Pounds? We Didn't Bother To Weigh It

It's Always Nice To Get Off To An Early Start In Any Session, No Sooner Had ( Marc ) Returned His Carp  ( Matt's ) Middle Rod Screamed Off, A Real Sluggish Fight Resulted In The Second Twenty Of The Season And The First Capture On A New Bait ( Coconut Cream ) It's Exact Weight Went 20lb 1oz And From The Picture Below You Can Clearly See This Carp Is A Proper Old Warrior

A REAL OLD WARRIOR

( Matt ) Was Delighted With This Capture And Also Doing So Via A New Bait

After The Quick Action  The Kettle Was Put Back On And Myself And ( Marc ) Were Soon Talking About Carp Again, What Happened Next Was Quite Funny Indeed

( Marc ) Said ( Matt ) I Wonder If Any Of The Big Girls Will Turn Up This Year? With Only Three Sessions Into The New Campaign I ( Matt ) Said I'm Sure There Will But Maybe Not Just Yet? No Sooner Had I Said That ( Marc ) Was Away Again

In The Early Stages Of This Encounter You Could Clearly See That This Fish Was A Good Fish, The Distinctive Plodding During The Fight Had All The Tell Tail Signs Of It Being At Least A Twenty, When It Finally Hit The Net And We Both Looked Down At ( Marc's ) Prize A Twenty It Was With Ease, We Popped It Into The Retainer Whilst We Got Everything Ready In Order To Weigh This Fine Specimen Safetly

RETAINER SLING

Picture
Everything Ready We Popped It On The Scales, The Retainer Sling Weighs Two Pounds So After Deducting That Weight From Total Weight We Settled On A Final Weight Of 28lb 10oz

What A Result And I ( Matt ) Was Delighted For ( Marc )

TOP RESULT

The Action Continued Into Dark With Some More Upper Double Commons, We Managed To Bag Six Captures In Total So All In All A Great Evenings Work
