SHORT SESSION MONDAY 12th AUGUST ( 2013 )

For Me (Matt) This Will Be My Final Session In The UK For A Few Weeks, As I’m Quiet Busy At Work There Then I’m Hopping Over The Channel Again In Search Of Big Carp In France For A Week.

But Back To Monday Evening And Another Short Session, Myself And (Marc) Graced The Bank Of Our Chosen Venue Around 4.00PM, And Were Surprised To Only See One Other Angler Present The Swim We’d Both Been Fishing Over Recent Weeks Was Available Again And According To The Weather Man We’d Be Sitting In The Teeth Of A South Westerly So An Easy Decision Was Made And Just After 5.00PM We Were Both Set Up And Angling.

The Sun Was Trying To Break Through The Clouds What Had Been For Most Of It A Very Over Cast Day, Then The Rain Arrived Only Briefly Which Was A Shame As I (Matt) Really Like Wet Weather When I’m Fishing Even More So After A Long Spell Of High Pressure.

Normal Baits And Tactics Were Being Applied Again And Not Forgetting The Coffee Drinking Which Kicked Off Shortly After The Third Rod Was Sorted. Did I Mention A South Westerly? Totally The Opposite, The Wind Was Blowing In That Direction When We Arrived But Soon After Setting Up It Swung Round And Began To Hack Down The Other End Of The Lake.

Signs Of Carp Were At Minimum Compared To The Last Few Weeks, We Did Not See Our First Show Until A Good Three / Four Hours Into The Session And That Was Up The Other End Of The Lake Were The Wind Was Now Blowing.

If Mr Carp Wasn’t Ready For His Tea? Me And (Marc) Certainly Was As I Created One Of My Favourite Bank Side Dishes Of Pasta, Pasta Sauce And Hot Dog Sausages, Quick And Easy Great Bank Side Food.

Once The Was Consumed We Both Continued To Watch The Water For Signs, Nothing Was Spotted In (Matt’s) Swim But (Marc) Had Been Trickling In Some Chopped Boilie And Pellet To A Margin Spot And Signs Of Fish Were Present As A Ploom Of Bubbles Every Now And Then Rose To The Surface

(Marc) Was Reluctant To Go In With A Lead Approach So Instead He Used A Small Waggler And Scaled Down To A Size 14 Hook, There May Not Of Been Carp Present? But Possibly Bream Or Tench? (Marc) Fished On Like This Up Until Dusk But Sadly With Out Any Results.

The Nights Are Starting To Draw In Now And By 9.15pm Dusk Had Fallen With Out As Much As A Single Bleep For Either Of Us, I (Matt) Have Blanked This Year On This Venue But (Marc’s) Record Was At Threat As He Has Not But If I Can But Money On One Guy Catching A Carp It Would Have To Be (Marc) And As The Session Was A Whisker Away From Drawing To A Conclusion (Marc’s) Right Hander Was Away And He Was Into A Fish.

Not A Monster But Without Doubt A Stunner To Save The Blank

GOOD ANGLING!!!
