It's Been Over Three Weeks Since Our Last Session Which Was At Pool Hall And On Lower Lake

I'm Pleased To Say That Conditions For This Session Are A Lot Better No Rain And For The Time Of Year Very Good Indeed Highs Of Almost Thirteen Degrees

I ( Matt ) Is Joined On This Session Once Again With My Very Good Friend ( Nick Rudge ) And New Friend  ( Scott Hughes ) Who Myself And ( Nick ) Met On Our Previous Visit To Pool Hall

( Scott ) Arrived Around 10.00 AM And Myself And ( Nick ) Arrived Around 11.30 AM Were All Pitting Our Wits In This Session On The Second Lake On The Pool Hall Complex Which Is Called Meadow Lake

( Scott ) Lives Very Near To The Venue And He Has Been Mine And ( Nicks ) Eyes And Ears And Has Kept Us Both Updated With What Has Been Going On, Meadow Lake Is Home To A Lot More Carp Than Lower Lake  Over A Thousand So We Are Told, There Not In The Same Stamp As Lower Lake Regards Size But Our Thinking Was Angling On A Lake Holding More Carp Will Increase Our Chances Of A Capture?

Were All Fishing From The Right Side Bank Reason Being After Speaking To One Of The Lakes Owners He Told Us All That This Area Was Very Good For Targeting The Carp In The Colder Months? From The Still Above You Can See Pictured A Small Island, From There  To The Right There Carp Are Known To Shoal Up In Large Numbers? So Taking This Advice On Board We Set Off In Search Of A Capture ( Nick ) To The Left ( Matt ) In The Middle And ( Scott ) To The Right

BAITS AND TACTICS

Not For The First Time This Year I ( Matt ) Is Using The Boilie Approach

And A New Recipe That I Am Playing Around With Called '' Banofond ''

It's An All Year Round Bait Perfect For The Colder Months

I Was Planning To Use Three Rods Again In This Session But Sadly I Only Ended Up Using Two, A Problem With One Of My Delkims Was The Reason So I Placed Two Presentations Slap Bang In The Middle Of My Swim Were I Had Spotted A Carp Or Two Crash Whilst I Was Setting Up

The Right Hand Rod Was Presenting A Snowman Rig And The Left Hand Rod Was Presenting A Bog Standard Pop Up Rig Which Were Both Complemented By A Small PVA Bag Of Chopped Banofond No Free Offerings Were Peppered Over The Spots On This Session Just A Mouthful Was On Offer To The Carp This Time Around

With The Early Signs Of Carp Activity Whilst Setting Up We Were All Reasonably Confident Of Some Action, So As The Daylight Began To Fade We All Congregated In My Swim ( Matt ) For A Social, Carpy Chat, Bite To Eat And Watched The Sun Set Behind The Trees

By 10.00 PM The Early Start Had Got The Better Of ( Scott ) And He Turned In For The Night Myself       ( Matt ) And ( Nick ) Were Still Full Of Life I Think That Had Something To Do With All The Coffee We Were Drinking And Continued To Look Out Into The Darkness Whilst Listening Out For Any Rolling Carp?

It Was Around 10.20 PM When ( Nick ) Suddenly Had A Few Bleeps On His Middle Rod, We Both Popped Around To His Swim To Investigate More Then Suddenly That Rod Melted Off And ( Nick ) Was In,              ( Scott ) Had Heard The Sound Of A Steve Neville Alarm Singing And Jumped From His Slumber And Joined Us In The Swim But No Sooner Had ( Nick ) Pulled Into A Carp It Was Off, It Had Managed To Take Him Into A Reed Bed On The Far Margin And Dump His Rig GUTTED!!!

BRIEF ACTION

The Night Went On And Uneventful I'm Sad To Say One Of The Reasons May Be Due The Frost?

The Weather Man Told Us Earlier In The Day We Would Get Damp Conditions And The Temperature Would Drop But Not Low Enough So Freeze, Mother Nature Always The Unpredictable

FROST ON THE PROFILE X

It Was Around 7.30 AM When We All Emerged From Our Bankside Accommodation And Began The Day Talking About The Lack Of Action Or In ( Nick's ) Case The One That Got Away, It Looked Like It Was Going To Be Another Stunning Morning And The Sun Would Come Out To Play Would It Bring A Rise In The Lakes Temperature? Zigs Worth A Go?

We Kept On Plugging Away Until Midday But Without Result, A Mixed Bag Of Events But We Can Proudly Say We All Gave It Our Best Shot!

But This Time Around It Wasn't To Be

Until The Next Blog May I Wish You All A Very HAPPY CHRISTMAS
