It's Been Three Weeks Since Myself ( Matt ) And ( Marc ) Have Wet A Line So Today Friday (24. 1. 14) We Are Both Heading Off To Our Local Day Ticket Venue In Search Of A Bite Or Two On Our First Session In ( 2014 )

Once Again The Weather Over The Last Three Weeks Has Been A Real Mixed Bag Including Rain, Wind, And Some Very Low Temperatures Which Most Recently Brought A Frost

Arriving Once Again At First Light We Were Both Greeted To An Empty Venue And With The Success Myself And ( Marc ) Had Achieved Over The Christmas Period The Easy Decision Was Made To Jump Back In The Same Swims

The Weather Man Had Forecasted A Very Cool Day And Rain Heavy At Times Around Lunch Time?

( Marc ) Had Brought Along His Digital Thermometer Which Records The Air Temperature As Well As The Water Temperature, After A Quick Reading We Had Highs Of 8 ( Air Temperature ) And Lows Of 4    ( Water Temperature )

          MARC TAKING THE TEMPERATURE READING

By Around 8.30 AM We Were Both Angling, And Had Our Eyes Fixed On The Water Looking For Signs

There Were Plenty Of Roach Moving But Mr Carp Was Elusive Compared To Our Recent Session When They Were Very Active

A Quick Mention On Our Tactics And Nothing Has Changed From The Last Session Snowman Presentations Complemented With Small Bags Of Chopped Boilie And Boilie Crumb

And A 2ft Zig Was Presented On The Other Rod

The Session Began Very Slowly Indeed It Wasn't Until Around Midday That We Experienced Our First Piece Of Action, Deep In Conversation When Suddenly One Of ( Marc's ) Rods Screamed Off, After A Spirited Battle ( Marc ) Slipped The Net Under His First Capture Of ( 2014 )

THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE BIG TO BE BEAUTIFUL

A Beautiful Carp In True Winter Colours Four Maybe Five Pounds? Lovely Apple Sliced Scales
GOOD ANGLING!

By Lunch Time The Sky's Above Were Very Grey With A Few Spots Of Rain In The Air But The So Called Monsoon Weather Forecast Had Not Arrived And We Both Had A Feeling That We May Be Lucky And Miss It?

I ( Matt ) Continued To Watch Motionless Bobbins, Moving The Rods Around The Swim Every Hour Hoping To Drop On A Carp Or Two, Two Shows Were Recorded All Day And They Were Very Sutle Indeed And Both In Front Of ( Marc ) So It Was Evident That These Carp Were Not As Active As They Had Been Three Weeks Prior

( Marc ) Went On To Bag Two More Both Commons But His First Capture Of The Day Was By Far The Pick Of The Bunch, With The Days Beginning To Draw Out Slightly We Fished Right Up Until Dark Which Was Around 5.00pm

Remember Me Mentioning The Weather? Monsoon? To Tip My Day Off ( Matt ) The Predicated Heavy Rainfall Did Transpire And I Packed Up In Awful Conditions '' DROWNDED RAT ''

But I Wouldn't Of Changed It For The World! ( Marc ) Did Very Well On A Day That Posed A Challenge For Me ( Matt ) That's Carp Fishing And I'm Already Counting The Days Down Until The Next Session

Thanks For Reading TIGHT LINES AND HAPPY ANGLING!
