A rare overnighter and In the week too, It's Tuesday ( 7. 7. 2015 ) and myself ( Matt ) along with good friend ( Carl Sharp ) are hitting the road and heading to the Lee Valley

Work and pleasure Is on offer over the next few days, Were angling Tuesday evening on the Crown Netherall Fishery which Is owned by Angling Direct, It's a syndicate lake In the region of Five acres?

We arrived Just after 1.00 PM after a quick lap of the lake and the odd stop off at swims to meet and greet other staff members from Angling Direct we both decided to double up In a swim not far from the car park, We spotted fish showing all over the place

On our arrival we bumped Into a local angler who kindly opened the gate and granted us access to the fishery, I ( Matt ) couldn't resist picking his brain and gaining some local knowledge, They like a boilie was the first thing he said oh and beware of the Crayfish, Pop up presentations are the way forward then I replied? The opposite he said fish hard on the bottom mate double hookbaits If you can?

Taking this on board I was some what confused and for the first few hours of the session I went against his advice and fished pop ups, When I reeled In my rods around 7.30 PM? To Join up with the rest of the lads to enjoy a social and a BBQ I discovered that all Three of my baits had even been scratched and on One rod taken surprised? You bet I was

During the social at the back of my mind I kept on thinking about my hookbaits I only had One night available to try and net a Carp as Wednesday morning I'd be tied up looking at new products which we will be selling In our Advanta range later on In the year

By 9.30 PM we were all heading back to our swims decision made, Double bottom baits It was and I Intended to Introduce some bait and fish all Three rods on One spot

I Introduced about a kilo of bait mixing my ( CM1 ) bottom baits with Nash Baits ( 4G Squid ) everything was sorted again and I was settled In for the evening around about 10.30 PM, Myself and ( Carl ) had numerous visitors to the swim during the evening enjoying conversations with work colleagues

It was around 11.30 PM when I decided to turn In for the night, It had been a long day and I had an early start In the morning, I was Just dropping off to the land of nod when my right hand rod rattled off, I was connected to a very hard fighting Carp Indeed this fish gave me the right run around with some help from
( Carl ) and ( Alan ) who was In the swim next door who did an excellent Job of Juggling my other rods I finally bagged my first fish of the session

What happened next took me by surprise ( Alan ) said '' you might have to re spot that middle rod fella ? '' I'm sure when you were playing that Common It's moved the lead? No sooner had he said that It belted off and I was attached to another very hard fighting Carp, I thought the first Carp hung on this one was proper angry and It tried all It could to either snag me up or shake my size 6 fang X out of It's mouth

I'm pleased to say I finally won the battle and pictured below Is my prize

This was turning out to be a great evenings angling and I was enjoying every minute of It, By the time all the pictures were done we'd reached 1.00 AM I re spotted all Three rods again re baited the spot and crawled back Into my bag happy with my evenings work

Until the next blog thanks for reading Tight Lines and Happy Angling
