The 4th of October ( 2014 ) had finally arrived myself ( Matt Fleet ) and good friend ( Marc Copson ) have Just loaded up the van and are ready for departure, Were heading to Dover and Dover International ferry port It's that time of the year again were off to France

The venue we have chosen for this years adventure Is another one from the excellent portfolio at Angling Lines, Jonchery and Jonchery 7 are located In Troyes and situated In stunning and beautiful surroundings, Jonchery Is around Thirty acres the lake we had booked for the week Jonchery 7 Is a lot smaller In size around Five acres with a good head of Carp resident In It up to Fifty pound

Our Journey from the Midlands to Dover was a pleasant one and so was the crossing Into Calais which was the start of the next leg of the Journey a Six hour drive to Troyes which Is home to the lakes, For early October the weather Is simply superb Just like a summers day by looking at the long range forecast for the week ahead things were set to change more on that later

We had been on the road since 1.30 AM and we finally arrived at the complex a shade after 3.00 PM reaching our destination was a welcome relief, The meet and greet with Owner Paul took around Thirty minutes and then we headed off to the lake to get the first look at It In real time which made a change from looking at pictures of It on the web site

The lake and It's surroundings looked Just as beautiful as the pictures of It did on the web site, The late afternoon sunshine made things that extra bit special our next port of call was to grab some cold refreshment and set off for a walk around the lake

TANGEE TERROR

There Is only one man made swim on the lake which Is a double comfortable gravel swim, Perfect for a social and to combat what mother nature had In store for us through out the week, The weather was superb on the Saturday but from the early hours of Sunday morning the heavens opened and It remained to do so for the duration of our stay

So on with the session, Our approach to fishing In France Is no different to our approach to our fishing In the UK plenty of boilies presented on blow back snowman rigs, The lake Is featureless with a light covering of silt on It's lake bed, Depth wise an average depth of Two feet at the top end of the lake and It was slightly deeper at the dam end of around Four feet ( picture above )

Boilie wise we have brought Two types with us In the way of

Angling Directs - Tangee Terror

No Wait On Bait - CM2

NO WAIT ON BAIT
