Without a doubt this is my go to pop up presentation, the Jony Mac rig or just the plain Multi Rig it's had a few different names over the years

by adding a shrink tube kicker to this presentation makes one hell of a difference in my opinion

by doing this it not only limit's the rig into a one shot presentation, by that I mean you are unable to change the hook once it has been fully constructed

but by sacrificing that option what you do get is a pop up presentation which is very effective and difficult for a carp to deal with
If you have never attempted to tie this presentation yourself? it's very simple indeed and a lot easier than it looks

Step 1.

hook choice, either the Fang X or the new Pinpoint Claw hooks from Nash Tackle are ideal for this presentation

Step 2.

hooklink choice and coated braid, I have been using Nash Tackle's Combi Link now for the last few years which has been perfect but sadly it is no longer available and has been discounted

my choice now will be it's replacement Sink Link

Step 3.

it's now time to start to construct the rig, the first job is to form a loop at one end of your coated hook link, the length of the hook link is your decision

after forming a loop you then need to push your loop through the back end of the eye and pull it through until it meets the knot

your next job is to feed on a rig rig or a bait screw over the loop, your preference?

the final job then is to feed the loop over the hook point which will create a big D, the buoyancy of the pop up will ensure the hook point sits like a claw under the water

next job is to trip down a small section of shrink tubing, all you will need is enough to cover the knot on the loop and a small amount of the hook link

shrink your tubing down with the use of a kettle creating a small kink in the tubing like you would for a kicker on a bottom bait presentation

by the use of your fingers strip back a small section of the coating on the hook link just above the eye of the hook, this will allow movement to your presentation

the area were all of the coating has bundled up makes it ideal to then add a spit shot, a BB shot is ideal which I then mould some tungsten putty around to counter balance the pop up

the final job is to tie your hook link to a swivel, my preference is in the way of a loop which once again allows movement

and their you have it a twisted multi rig fully constructed, give it a try next time your bankside
