Hello to everybody reading this blog I hope your well and that your managing to get on with life the best you can in these difficult times if you have been following my angling throughout the year? courtesy of my social media feeds on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter you would have seen that this year I have not only joined a new Syndicate but I have also purchased a ticket for a new Club Lake I have very little to report from my Syndicate, apart from I'm 12 nights in and I haven't had as much as a bleep yet but I'm pleased to say I have enjoyed some action on my Club Lake I joined my Syndicate in January and my Club Lake back in June I started my Syndicate campaign back in March which was sadly interupted due to the Covid-19 situation and I'm now 1 month into my 12 month ticket on my Club Lake it's been quite a while since I updated the UK Session Blog section of my website, after some deliberation over the weekend I have decided to update it at the end of every month, regards my progress on both my Syndicate and Club Lake after looking at my weekly work schedule a strategy was soon put in place * Friday's are allocated for a full days fishing on my Club Lake * Sunday night is a Syndicate night * Monday afternoon I'm back on the Club Lake obviously this may change on the odd occasion? as everyday life sometimes throws a spanner in the works those who have read any of my blog posts before? will know that I'm very set in my ways and my angling approach very rarely changes bait..... Scopex Squid I've lost count how many years this bait has been in my armoury? and I couldn't begin to come up with a figure as to how many carp it has caught me? Gary Bayes I'm forever in your debt! the first session on the Club Lake kicked off with a blank but from the second session I've managed to achieve some action x 2 white 12mm Scopex Squid pop ups presented on my trusted twisted multi rig over glugged and glazed Scopex Squid free offerings has been very successful for me throughout June and July on the Club Lake below are a selection of capture stills which I've been fortunate to slip the net under during June and July captures..... the first update may come across as brief?
and hopefully the next update will contain some more content thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read this update stay safe and happy angling

Two sessions in one week is very rare indeed for me, but due to a change around with my working week time allowed and I took advantage the first session was on Wednesday ( 8. 8. 2018 ) I returned yet again to the swim that I have continued to bait up on arrival I found an unwanted visitor in my swim Now you know why they call this swim the cattle drink... The second session of the week was on Friday ( 10. 8. 2018 ) before leaving on Wednesday I baited heavily once again so it's no surprise to hear that I returned yet again to the same swim Bait on and rods out... So how did the session progress? sit back and enjoy both sessions in the video below As always thanks for reading and viewing, until the next blog tight lines and happy angling Matt If your interested in subscribing to my session blog? you can do so here - eepurl.com/dBhUJj I've had a ticket for my club lake for over 10 years now, the ticket also offers angling on two stretches of river, one on the Severn and the other on the Wye it has taken me up until now but on Saturday ( 28. 7. 2018 ) I finally ventured to the stretch on the Severn in search of a river carp being honest with everyone reading this blog post it was a spare of the moment session and looking back I arrived un prepared The first swim of the day..... Weather wise the majority of the week had continued to be warm and by midweek we had experienced temperatures of nearly 30 degrees today Saturday and things changed dramatically with highs of just 15 degrees and rain, by mid afternoon it got very heavy and prolonged right then how did the session pan out? sit back and enjoy the video below As always thanks for reading and viewing is always appreciated! if your interested in subscribing to my blog? you can do so by visiting the home page on my website www.carpmarathon.co.uk until the next blog tight lines and happy angling Matt For those of you reading this who are of a superstitious nature you may think Friday the 13th is a far from ideal day on the calendar to go fishing? it's been three weeks since my last session and when free time to go angling becomes available I simply have to grab it with both hands the current warm spell which has swept over the UK for the past six / seven weeks continues, I did check the forecast before leaving home and believe it or not their has been rain forecasted if it does arrive today it's looking likely it will fall when I'm back home? so on with the session, I'll leave the video below to explain how the session unfolded If only I'd of had more time available the carp were really up for it today or as it's more commonly know in the carp world having it off, but hey ho limited time is better than no bank time! The biggest captures of the session..... Many thanks to all of you who have taken the time to read the blog and view the video it's always appreciated!
tight lines and happy angling Matt Saturday ( 23. 6. 2018 ) after a busy morning I headed on down to my club lake in the hope of some late afternoon action? around 4.00pm two rods were positioned on a single spot, one rod was presenting my ever faithful snowman rig and the other my favourite pop up presentation in the way of a twisted multi rig Rods on the spot..... the bait choice was Nashbait's Candy Nut Crush ( free offerings ) that had been pre prepped in the style of my stodged boilie approach and a healthy helping was spombed out around 50 yards from the bank hookbaits were Nashbait's Scopex Squid as previously mentioned I was using them snowman style and a 15mm white pop up on the twisted multi rig Candy Nut Crush bottom baits and Scopex Squid hookbaits..... the session began slowly which was no surprise in the intense heat of the afternoon sun it was around tea time when finally a bite was achieved in the way of a small mirror which was littered in scales and I didn't have to wait long after returning the mirror for the second bite of the short session to come along, another bite which had been achieved thanks to the snowman presentation resulted in a lovely looking common what went on to be the biggest capture of the session just before I packed up my right hand rod was away and a bite this time on the twisted multi rig, another common graced net which ended up being the smallest of the session hopefully the next time I'm back out behind the rods it will be back on my syndicate? until then thanks as always for reading tight lines and happy angling Matt It's Monday June 11th and I'm back on Patshull Church Lake for a quick overnighter it's a scorching afternoon with the temperature well into the twenty's, after a good lap of the lake I found absolutely nothing to go on, no fizzing, fish on the surface, shows nothing, I did spook a fish from one of the board swims which did not surprise me as their was no angling pressure from that side of the lake with the clock ticking I had to make a decision so I decided to drop back in the same swim as the one I fished in a few weeks ago which is called Little Tree to see how my latest short session panned out view the video below thanks for reading and viewing, until the next blog tight lines and happy angling Matt |
