Introduction
A question I get asked quite a lot about be it via a message on social media or at work ( Angling Direct Halesowen ) is what tackle and bait I use and my thoughts on the product in general?
after some consideration I have decided to add a review section to my website, the reviews I publish will be regards products be it an item of terminal tackle or a bait that I use in my personal angling
the reviews will also be about products I have used for a good period of time so this particular feature may not get frequently updated?

Review 22. Nash Tackle Helicopter Sleeves
The Helicopter rig.....
A presentation that has been around the carp scene since I don't when?, the helicopter sleeve from Nash Tackle is very basic and very effective
being honest the helicopter rig is not a presentation I use a lot, but when I do this product is my number one choice, as previously mentioned it's very basic, simple to use
and most importantly it's 100% safe for mr carp
it's main features are.....
: Great for rig release and carp safety in the event of main line breakage
: It can be used with or without the tapered top bead for helicopter or sliding chod rigs

Review 20. The Original Cobra Throwing Stick
This product is a real blast from the past!
I would be totally lost without it, made from aluminium and my version dispatches boilies up to 16mm
it's light weight in the hand and is unbreakable which is a good thing due to the amount of times I have trod on it over the years
I couldn't possibly put a time scale on regards the amount of years I have owned my Cobra Throwing Stick?
but I can remember where it was purchased from, angling retailer ( Mal Storey ) which was my very first taste of employment in the angling trade, that was many years ago now
nothing on today's market has ever come close IMO to the Cobra Throwing Stick, a great product!

Review 19. Nash Instant Action Boilies
Working in a busy tackle shop ( Angling Direct Halesowen ) I get asked plenty of questions throughout my working week
a commonly asked question I get asked is regards bait, and Nashbait's Instant Action Range in particular
* is it any good?
* it's cheaper than their flagship range does that mean it's made from poor ingredients?
are just a few
all the reviews I have compiled since I started this section for my website have been honest reviews and the review on these product will be no different
their is without doubt a big difference in both bait ranges which Nash Tackle manufacture, their flagship range which consists of
* Scopex Squid
* The Key
* Key Cray
are baits that are constructed from top end ingredients which certainly reflects the price tag of each of these baits
all three baits are perfect for baiting campaigns, seasoned campaigns on syndicate waters and low stock waters
Nash Tackle's Instant Action Range which includes
* Candy Nut Crush
* Strawberry Crush
* Pineapple Crush
* Coconut Creme
* Krill And Squid
* Monster Crab
* Tangerine Dream
is a range of baits which are made from good quality products but are no way in the same league as the flagship range
any of the baits in the Instant Action Range are perfect for heavily stocked waters, and also for anglers who's time bankside is limited?
I'm happy to use both in my angling, without a doubt my number one choice is Scopex Squid especially on my syndicate water and when I'm angling abroad
on my club water my bait choice switches to the Instant Action Range, it contains a high stock and normally my angling time on their is limited
to conclude the Instant Action Range is a good choice to make when it comes to bait, hopefully the information above is a useful insight?
like all baits be it one from Mainline, Sticky Baits, Dynamite Baits etc, put in the right place and if a carp is interested it will eat it!

Review 18. Titan TC
The compact solution for the professional
the Titan TC's rock solid design includes a 5000mm hydrostatic head waterproof and breathable cover
it's very compact to carry, very fast to put up and pack away, an optional mesh capsule is available to purchase which reduces condensation drip and protection for any climate
this is my fourth Titan bivvy that I have purchased in the 20+ years I have been a carp angler, it's safe to say that it's my number one choice of bivvy

Review 17. Scopex Squid
What can I say about this bait?
Nashbait have continued to supply Scopex Squid to carp anglers till this day
Gary Bayes recorded the UK's first 60lb carp by capturing Conningbrook's Two Tone at a record 61lb 2oz using Scopex Squid nearly a decade after it was first released
Scopex Squid went on to be Two Tones downfall no fewer than six times
other anglers such as Jim Shelley and Darrell Peck have used it to capture the Black Mirror and slaughter the Yateley Car Park Lake respectively
in my personal angling I'm proud to say that it's the best and most consistent bait I have ever used in 20 + years of carp angling

Review 16. Bullet Mono
The 0.28 Bullet has developed a reputation as a superb extreme distance casting main line
yet like all Bullet line knots it's significantly stronger than it's stated strength
available on 1,000 meter spools in low viz green or brown
on a personal note I was gutted to hear the news that the D Cam had been discontinued, but since using Bullet Mono I haven't looked back

Review 15. Riser Pellet
Kevin Nash's greatest ever surface fishing edge...
the Riser Pellet imitates a natural fly hatch creating a floating slick of micro pellets, a small percentage of the pellets slowly sink to draw fish up to the surface
creating a frenzied feeding reaction, the trick is to feed little but often the longer you feed before placing your hook bait the better!
their available to purchase from any good Nashbait stockist in either Strawberry Oil flavour or Pure Crustacean and their supplied in 1.6kg bags

Review 14. Nash Dwarf Landing Net
The Dwarf landing net from Nash Tackle, 42'' in size is the perfect landing net for the short session carp angler
it's telescopic handle retracts to a minuscule 44'' which is ( 112 cm ) but when it's fully extended it reaches a top length of 6 feet
I use my Dwarf landing net along side my Scope set up, to store and transport it I actually place my net inside the pouch which stores my retainer sling which then mounts nicely on the side of my Scope double rod skin
this net has landed me some superb fish over the last few years ranging from carp up to 60lb and catfish up to 80lb

Review 8. The E Class Margin Creeper From Free Spirit
The E Class Margin Creeper from Free spirit fishing is ideal for the mobile angler
it also doubles up as useful lure rod for the all round angler, at 8ft 6 it's perfect for getting in those tight swims, for such a small rod this product certainly packs a punch and comfortably handles large carp whilst surface fishing
or double figure pike when spinning and using lures, I have been an owner now of a pair of margin creepers for a good two years
I have used them on the odd surface session for carp but they get used more in the colder months for predator fishing
their a pleasure to use and for a very reasonable price they are excellent value for money

Review 7. The Frostbite + Sub Zero Sleeping Bag From Nash Tackle
The Frostbite + Sub Zero sleeping bag features a super light, soft waterproof outer membrane with top quality fill insulation
as well as a internal heat baffle system which was designed by Kevin Nash himself, it's in a class of it's own for lightweight cold weather performance
heavy duty crash zips feature on either side of the bag for easy access, I have been using mine now for the past two years if action especially during winter is far from prolific?
a good nights sleep is guaranteed using this product!

Review 6. The Daiwa Cast'izm
Daiwa are a brand who are world famous for their constant innovation
the Cast'izm 25 QDA is a revelation in the big pit reel industry, big pit reels are essential for distance casting, not only are they able to hold plenty of line, but they are also powerful enough to retrieve a large amount of line attached to a large and powerful fish
i'd class the Daiwa Cast'izm 25 QDA as a baby big pit reel, the three that i own complement my 10ft Scope rods like a duck does to water, their is very little weight in the reel which makes my set up very balanced indeed
another great feature on the Cast'izm is that they are mag sealed which makes them 100% leak free and that also prevents any dirt or grime from entering the reel
the QD feature which is short for ( quick drag ) is a breathe of fresh air, with the slightest shift on the front dray you can set the spool into free spool mode and back into normal playing mode in just a few seconds
complemented by the twister buster technology which makes sure you can fish a mono or braided mainline with confidence, this product is not cheap by any means, after two years use I have nothing but praise for them and I would go as far as saying their one if not the best reels I have ever owned!

Review 3. The Scope Recon Brolly From Nash Tackle
The Scope Recon Brolly is based on Kevin Nash's original Oval Brolly design, with a pack down rib length of just 44 inches
( 112 cm ) and still provides sufficient cover to protect you and your bedchair
if your a short session carp angler like myself? this product ticks all the boxes, it's just as quick and easy to put up as it is to pack away
this product also comes complete with a pair of screw point storm poles, and two extra storm caps on the roof of the brolly to complement additional storm poles if you wish?
my Scope Recon Brolly has been in use now for nearly two years and it's in great shape with just the odd trace of mud to show for it's efforts which are mainly around the pegging areas
it's an essential item of tackle for my short session angling!

Review 2. The Slap Head Visual Indicator From Nash Tackle
Made from PTFE the heads come in four different sizes, 6g, 10g, 20g and 40g, and are available in white or black
i use the white ones and generally use the 10g version for all of my fishing, each head has enclosed a ball bearing, magnet and spring mechanism which clips the line into position and disengages as soon as you pick the rod up
extra weight can be added to each head to suit conditions via separate drag weights which are available as two 5g anodised black stainless weights per pack
the heads can be screwed on to either a chain or which i prefer a strong arm which are available in two different styles in both 8cm and 14cm lengths, you can also purchase the strong arms with or without an additional weight, the weight can be easily adjusted without having to unscrew and fix add ons
to finish the indicator, you have to fix it to the alarm of your choice via an anchor bracket which is easily screwed into place
if you own the Siren R3? they easily screw in to the thread which is fixed to the alarm
I use the slap head indicators for all types of carp fishing, be it a small water or a large wind swept pit?
I like them so much I have a feeling they will remain my first choice indicator for a long while to come

Review 1. The Siren R3 Bite Alarm From Nash Tackle
I've been a carp angler now for over twenty years and over that period of time I have owned plenty of bite alarms from many different manufacturers
my first alarm was from Fox International, the Mini Micron, a simple roller alarm with an on off switch, a Red LED light and speaker were it's only features
a few years on from that purchase I upgraded to their ST alarms, they were a totally different shape to the Mini Micron and I was very pleased with them and they served me well!
moving on after that I continued to use fox alarms in the way of their Warrior alarms, once again they were nothing flash but for the money they certainly lived up to their price tag
my next move in the bite alarm market after that was to Delkim and the TXI, what can I say?, I couldn't fault them with their vibration v patented system, sadly the three I owned for many years got stolen whilst in session
after I spoke to the insurance company they paid out and my Delkims were replaced by the RS1 from Nash
some of you reading this may think why would he want to go back to a roller alarm after using a Delkim? simple answer I just fancied a change
moving onto the present day and now I use Nash Tackle's latest alarm which is the Siren R3, the R3 operates on microchip intelligent sensing which equates to less bleeps from bobbin creep due to wind, drifting debris or variable water movement
I also use the Siren R3 receiver, the pairing of the heads and remote is straight forward, and you can also colour code the lights on the remote by way of clip in lenses
a new vibration mode on the remote is also very handy, as is an anti theft alarm if the heads ever get turned off before the remote
as I type this review my use of the Siren R3 and the remote has elapsed over 12 months and I simply can not fault them, I have captured more fish since I purchased them to single bleeps than ever before, as Kevin Nash says if the Siren speaks to you? listen to it!
